Great escapes are better when shared! Plan a school trip, organize a family outing or just spend time exploring some of the best attractions in New England. Sheraton Framingham is near the best of New England's family attractions.

  • Boston Children's Museum: Housed in a renovated industrial building, the Children's Museum is the second oldest in the country and includes popular exhibits such as Construction Zone, inspired by the Big Dig; KidStage, where children are introduced to theater; and Johnny's Workbench, where kids can work with hand tools and natural materials.
  • Boston Museum of Science: Spanning the Charles River, the Museum contains over 500 interactive exhibits with several daily live performances and demonstrations. The Museum is also home to over 100 animals which have been rescued and rehabilitated.  
  • Danforth Museum: Is proud to showcase both established and emerging artists with a focus on American contemporary art from the 18th century to present. Be sure to also visit the exploration by the School of Boston Expressionism.
  • Garden in the Woods: As New England's largest landscaped collection of wildflowers the Garden contains over 1,700 plants representing approximately 1,000 different species. The Garden is open between April 15 - October 31.
  • IMAX 3D Theater, Natick/Reading: Both IMAX 3D theaters are found in the Jordan's Furniture superstores and feature all new and popular releases.
  • Museum Of Fine Arts: As one of the largest and most comprehensive museums in the United States, the MFA houses over 450,000 works of art. The Museum is completing an expansion that will allow for additional pieces of art to be rotated through the exhibit.
  • New England Aquarium: Originally constructed in 1969 (though since expanded and modernized), this aquarium is credited with revolutionizing the "modern aquarium" experience. In addition to the exhibits, the aquarium stresses its commitment to research and conservation.
  • Old Sturbridge Village: Is the largest living museum in New England (at over 200 acres) and vows to re-create rural New England life during the 1790s-1830s.The village is home to over 40 structures, including many restored buildings purchased and moved from across New England.
  • Plymouth Rock: Represents the traditional landing location for the Mayflower Pilgrims who established Plymouth Colony in 1620. From the end of May though Thanksgiving Day, the park is staffed with volunteers who inform visitors of the historical landing.
